This seaside wedding, held at the private Madison Beach Club in CT, was filled with sprawling views of the Long Island Sound and custom-tailored elements befitting Elizabeth and Karl’s love story.
The couple’s love story all began back in their college days, while attending Princeton. A chance meeting on the historic college campus brought Elizabeth and Karl together. Over time, Karl’s career as an Army Officer moved them to Europe, where they both currently reside.
Wanting to celebrate with family and friends in attendance, they decided to host a wedding weekend, back home in Connecticut. The weekend kicked off with a welcome party the night before their Madison Beach Club wedding. Elizabeth and Karl invited guests to enjoy libations with them at New England Brewing Company, on the harbor.

For Elizabeth and Karl, the decision to host a Madison Beach Club wedding was an easy one. Throughout her childhood, Elizabeth spent long summer days at her grandparents’ home in Madison, Connecticut. Those days by the shore are, arguably, some of her best memories. To honor those cherished memories, Elizabeth asked if it would be possible to make use of their home on the day of her wedding. Her grandparents were more than happy to oblige.
There, on the wrap-around porch, accented by abundant flower beds, with a clear view of the sea, she and Karl exchanged a first look and private wedding vows.
Undeniably, the views from their home were unimaginable. In fact, Elizabeth confided in me that the setting of her grandparents’ porch is her favorite view in the world. The charming, whimsical setting with the added layer of significance allowed me to capture unforgettable wedding photos of Elizabeth & Karl.

Each of Elizabeth and Karl’s wedding events was held at the members-only Madison Beach Club. In order to plan a wedding at the venue, you must be a member in good standing or otherwise be sponsored by a member. Elizabeth’s family ties allowed her and Karl to say I do with a ceremony set against the shoreline. This quiet, tranquil setting offers seemingly endless views of the Long Island Sound. An exchange of earnest, heartfelt vows, sprinkled with laughter and merriment, officially joined Elizabeth and Karl together in marriage.
Following their wedding ceremony, a cocktail hour, complete with the firing of a canon, awaited the newlyweds and their guests. But, with the sun quickly setting off in the distance, it was time to capture wedding photos along the pier. The venue provides a clear path from the lawn to the harbor. Including a jagged stretch of flat rocks that jut out into the water. With the glow of the sun over the sea, I worked with Elizabeth & Karl to capture Madison Beach Club wedding photos bathed in coastal scenery.

As our time along the shore drew to a close, a grand welcome awaited at their reception. To honor Karl’s military service, a saber arch entrance was formed as they made their way to the awaiting celebration.
Elizabeth & Karl worked with their planner Raquel from RS Events Co to transform the space, using a color palette of pastel blue and white. Lush white roses and bountiful hydrangeas were set in floral arrangements, all in all enhancing the venue space.
The final touch to their celebratory setting was custom lighting by Andrew Rubenoff. Thus illuminating the venue with a soft ambiance. Under a sea of glowing lights, Elizabeth & Karl took the dance floor, before spending the rest of the evening in the company of their guests.

As a Connecticut wedding photographer, the couples I work with often choose to wed at extraordinary locations along the coast. Elizabeth & Karl’s Madison Beach Club wedding was a truly remarkable experience, filled with purposeful details, in a beautiful setting.
