Located along the Long Island Sound lies Old Saybrook. A historic town in Connecticut where the coastline seemingly stretches into eternity. This idyllic town paints the picture of old-world New England charm. Quaint shops line Main Street and lofty sailboats bob along the water, just past the Saybrook Breakwater Lighthouse.
Nestled against the coast are notable inns and hotels. Locals and visitors alike flock here to enjoy a laid-back experience, complete with the invigorating sea breeze.
It was here, in Old Saybrook, that Laura & Rob searched for CT wedding venues fit to host their celebration. After selecting Saybrook Point Resort and Marina for their fall wedding, the details began to fall into place. All in all, creating an extraordinary celebration.

Saybrook Point Resort and Marina hosts weddings year-round. Including indoor and outdoor options for couples who wish to enjoy the beauty of the seaside town, no matter the season.
Old-world elegance and seaside charm blended seamlessly to set the tone for Laura and Rob’s wedding. The air on that November day was crisp, with the fall season in full swing. But Laura and Rob, along with their guests, leaned into the enchantment of the season. Carving out each moment and making it their own.
When I met Laura and Rob on their wedding day, they were both preparing in their respective suites at the Tall Tales Guest House. As those final moments and finishing touches unfolded, Laura and Rob prepared to meet each other for a first look.
Away from their wedding party and guests, Laura and Rob laid eyes on each other for the first time that day. Opting to share private vows, letting the emotion of the day wash over them before their wedding ceremony began.

A dockside wedding ceremony awaited Laura and Rob at Saybrook Point Resort. The water gently lapped against the boat slips. Meanwhile, the sky was painted with magnificent clouds that filtered in streams of natural light. Their vows were layered with ambiance courtesy of the season. But their guests came prepared to enjoy the outdoor fête with warm layers and even brighter smiles.
As an added perk for hosting their ceremony outdoors, Laura & Rob’s sweet pup got to walk down the aisle wearing a bandana and a flower crown. It was a delightful added touch that brought joy to everyone. There along the water, with everyone they love in attendance, Laura and Rob promised to love and honor each other, for all time.
After being pronounced, the sun began to set over the horizon. Guests were treated to libations and light bites, dockside. But Laura and Rob slipped away with me for wedding portraits filled with the glow over the seacoast. Beautiful streams of light fluttered over the water as Laura and Rob strolled along the dock as husband and wife.

For their indoor wedding reception at Saybrook Point Resort and Marina, Laura & Rob took cues from the coastal town to curate a classic wedding celebration. Escort cards included hand-calligraphed seashells carefully placed atop each guest’s dinner setting. Crisp white tones with shades of rich navy blue brought their Saybrook Point Wedding to life. Before guests arrived to fill the space with warmth, Laura and Rob enjoyed a private moment together to take it all in. Embracing tenderly as a newly married couple.
As their friends and family began to arrive, it was clear that the celebration ahead would be a momentous occasion. Beautiful, poignant speeches were given in honor of Laura and Rob by those closest to them. A luxurious dinner service was enjoyed by all before the dance floor opened up for the night.
There was still one unique and joyous surprise ready to delight Laura and Rob’s guests. For a fun, immersive wedding day experience, Laura and Rob hired a ‘Cannoli Hype Man’ to attend their wedding. He took to the dance floor with strolling cannolis, piping the sugary confections for everyone to savor.
As the evening drew to a close, I couldn’t resist working with Laura and Rob one last time to soak up the beauty of their charming coastal wedding. Outside, with the coast in the backdrop and the thum of their vibrant dance floor off in the distance, I captured a few images of the newlyweds. Basking in the glow, Laura and Rob held each other tightly, letting the joy of their Saybrook Point Resort and Marina wedding wash over them once more.
