Smith Farm Gardens Wedding

Located in East Haddam, Connecticut, Smith Farm Gardens is a sprawling wedding venue nestled on historic grounds. It features a refurbished farmhouse and lush, expansive lawns, complete with a walking trail. The colonial farmhouse on the grounds can be accessed as a getting-ready suite or wedding photo location. Furthermore, the countryside venue hosts open-air garden wedding ceremonies and tented reception celebrations. 

The total capacity of a wedding at Smith Farm Gardens allows space for up to 150 guests. However, you may opt to host an intimate fête, similar to Jessica and Joe. With 30 cherished family members and beloved friends in attendance, they chose to skip a wedding in the bustling city. Instead, the gentle, carefree feeling of a garden wedding experience enveloped them, creating an unforgettable day centered on the significance of their union.

Undeniably, the backdrop of Smith Farm Gardens is unlike any other, creating wedding photos filled with oversized blooms of hydrangea, lush topiaries, and towering trees with light teeming through the oversized branches. Once Jessica and Joe were pronounced married, we explored the grounds together, capturing wedding photos that call forth the charm and splendor of a garden wedding during the summer in East Haddam, Connecticut. 

With the soft lull of their cocktail hour, off in the distance, Jessica and Joe explored the walking paths of their venue, soaking up the sweet smell of summer grass along the way. From the interior of the 18th-century farmhouse to the apple grove, my approach was to allow Jessica and Joe to fully immerse themselves in each moment of their summer wedding while capturing the emotion behind every tender embrace. The weather on that summer day in Connecticut was nothing short of perfect.

Their tented reception, celebration with dinner and dancing awaited, and it was time for them to make their grand arrival. Jessica and Joe immediately took to the dance floor as their guests cheered and applauded their arrival. 

The reception that followed was a fun night spent side by side with their guests, enjoying carefree lawn games, a sundae bar, and, later in the evening, a roaring fire.
