7. Branford House

Evoking the charm of the famed Gilded Age mansions in Newport, Branford House was also built in the early 19th century. Branford House resides at UConn Avery Point, along the Connecticut shoreline. 9. Eolia Mansion

New England’s rich history is seen through historic wedding venues in Connecticut that speak of the past. This is true of Eolia Mansion. The stunning mansion wedding venue in CT was built to embody Roman Renaissance Classical Revival style architecture. In fact, at the time it was built, it featured 42 rooms over 200 acres. Today, the Eolia Mansion is nestled among Harkness Memorial Park and available to rent for your wedding day through the Connecticut Parks Department.

10. Edgerton Park New Haven

Lush, historic, and beautiful, Edgerton Park in New Haven offers weddings in their gardens and Carriage House. The Victorian mansion at Edgerton Park was originally owned by Eli Whitney before eventually being passed down to the City of New Haven in 1965. Today, the original splendor of the Carriage House still remains, accommodating weddings for couples who wish to say I do at the nearby Garden Area, steps away from the mansion home.

Booking of the Gardens and the Carriage House at Edgerton Park in New Haven for weddings is done on a first-come basis through the New Haven Park Department. The venue space is considered exclusive, with only one permit issued per day.

Amenities that come with your venue rental include 50 chairs and six 8’ tables to seat your guests. There are no cooking accommodations on site, so you will need to work with a caterer to facilitate your needs for a dining experience.

In total, the Carriage House at Edgerton Park can comfortably accommodate up to 50 seated guests for an intimate wedding experience. 

Edgerton Park New Haven Wedding

When planning an Edgerton Park wedding, many couples choose to rent the Carriage House along with the nearby wedding garden. In order to do so, you will need to sign a contract with the Edgerton Park Conservancy and obtain a permit from the city of New Haven for the use of the outdoor space.
