This Deans Mill Farm wedding in Stonington Connecticut was a fabulous day of celebration for Seanna and Kevin.
Deans Mill Farm was originally built in the 1700s. Today it functions as both a wedding venue and a livestock farm. The historic buildings on the property, including the Colonial homesteads have undergone a complete restoration. Even through restoration, these beautiful structures have maintained their original charm. They now serve as the getting-ready suites for couples planning their wedding at Deans Mill Farm. Additionally, this quintessential piece of Connecticut history provides an al fresco wedding day experience to their couples. Wedding ceremonies are held on the lawn with the option to host a tented reception and cocktail hour just steps away.
Deans Mill Farm Wedding
Over 100 of Seanna and Kevin’s closest family members & friends gathered at Deans Mill Farm to watch as they were joined in marriage. Seanna and Kevin inherently love one another in a way that is effortless. Their chemistry is undeniable. From my perspective, their wedding day was a true representation of their head-over-heels approach to the depth of their love. Capturing moments between them on their wedding day was about honing in on how their love manifested. A slight knowing smile, the way they reached for each other’s hand, and how tenderly they embraced. It was evident in each moment. From the very first time they laid eyes on one another that day through to their pronouncement.
Alongside Seanna and Kevin’s love story their Deans Mill Farm wedding was an incredible experience. Their cocktail hour service featured freshly shucked oysters on the half shell and melon & mint ‘shooters’. Dinner was positively delectable with locally sourced meats, fish, and produce that were all cooked to perfection over an open flame. The mouth-watering fare was all courtesy of Osa Restaurant located in Middletown, CT. Kevin is the co-owner of Osa. He and Seanna knew without a doubt that the creative eats offered on the menu at Osa would be the perfect way to dine on the night of their wedding.

When it came to entertainment, Seanna and Kevin enlisted the help of the Savage Brothers Band. A six-piece rocking rhythm band that has been serving Connecticut for over 40 years. They took to the stage during cocktail hour to infuse the kickoff of Seanna and Kevin’s wedding day with light melodies. The music filled the air as guests dined, drank, and greeted one another with festive spirits.
As the sun began to set over the horizon Seanna & Kevin’s guests began to heat up the dance floor. I decided to sneak the newlyweds away for one final photography experience. Golden hour at Deans Mill Farm was an experience unlike any other. The grass underfoot took on a whimsical vibrancy and the tree tops glowed from beams of light cascading through the clouds.
