Walnut Beach in Milford was an exquisite location to capture Gina and Josh’s CT engagement photos. Gina and Josh will be married early next year at Candlewood Inn in Brookfield. This stunning venue sits on the edge of Candlewood Lake. Providing glistening views of the water for couples who opt to plan an al fresco wedding ceremony on their lawn. It seemed only fitting to celebrate Gina & Josh’s upcoming union, with CT engagement photos by the waters of Walnut Beach.
On the day of their engagement session, we met at Walnut Beach for sunrise photos. This time of day is optimal for CT engagement photos, for a few reasons. First, all is calm and quiet. There is a stillness that fills the air as the day awakens. Second, Walnut Beach is typically empty during this time. This allowed Gina and Josh to be present in each other’s company, and focus on celebrating their moment. The stress and unwanted attention of onlookers is non-existent. Allowing a sort of freedom to embrace while creating an unforgettable engagement photography experience. I sensed that Gina and Josh shared a beautiful bond, and within that, there existed an undeniable chemistry between them. Their willingness to love so openly made capturing their CT engagement photos a wonderful way to tell their story.

As is the case with most of the couples I work with, this was the first time Gina and Josh were experiencing a professional photoshoot together. Which is all the more reason to schedule engagement photos at sunrise. However, they were so open in their approach to working with me and trusting my guidance that it made each and every moment one of a kind. With the quiet dawn of the morning, we were able to watch the sunrise over the Long Island Sound. The glistening light illuminated the shore and we took in the stunning views of Charles Island.
Wanting to spend our time together adventuring, Gina and Josh went for a stroll along the shore. The gentle ripple of the waves lapped at the pebbled coastline as Josh scooped up Gina. We continued to explore Walnut Beach with a walk along the pier and wispy clouds hanging overhead. There was laughter, embracement, and even a joke about how the blue skies, just for a moment, made us feel as if we were transported to the Caribbean.
Adding to the overall experience of their CT engagement photos by the water, Gina and Josh kept their attire classic, crisp, and clean. Gina was dressed in a sleek one-shoulder white sheath dress with dainty gold jewelry that enhanced her overall look without detracting from the effortless feel. Josh wore crisp white slacks and a black button-down. Their quintessential approach to a black-and-white color palette curated a timeless look for their engagement photos by the shore.
